The SFIWC is the largest, most influential international wine competition in America, judged by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized wine experts. Judging, which was conducted June 13, 14, and 15 of this year at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, is based on a blind, consensual procedure, ensuring that its rigor and integrity remain emblematic of the nation's highest standards.

Originally introduced in France in 1846 to help the French Foreign Legion avoid malaria by making quinine palatable, Dubonnet was created by a Paris chemist and wine merchant, Joseph Dubonnet. By disguising the bitter taste with fortified wine blended with a proprietary combination of herbs, spices and botanicals, Joseph Dubonnet introduced what would go on to become one of the most popular aperitif wines worldwide.
