Richmond, Virginia (PRWEB) December 15, 2005 - In an email to numerous members of the Wall Street Journal's editorial team, Kevin Erskine of the Scotch Blog (www.thescotchblog.com) threw down the gauntlet:
"I wanted you to know that I am simply appalled at the story that was released this past weekend in the Wall Street Journal entitled "Whiskey's Risky Moves." You should be ashamed and embarrassed that you printed this piece."
Kevin Erskine, author of "The Instant Expert's Guide to Single Malt Scotch" says, "The story was rife with inaccuracies, misquotes and information which was simply made up as far as I can tell.
I have a response to this story which will appear this coming Thursday December 15th on The Scotch Blog, a news and commentary site which is read by Whisky Industry insiders and consumers across the world.
In this story I expose the faulty interviews, poor investigation and misinformation that comprises the WSJ story.
I hope that the next time the Wall Street Journal decides to do a story about Scotch, they check facts, interview people who actually know something about the subject, and actually use fact checkers."
Says Mr. Erskine "Unfortunately, industry folks don't have the freedom to speak their minds, and tell the WSJ how they really feel about such shabby journalism. Fortunately, I do."
