The Canadian Whisky with a Royal Heritage
Crown Royal, America's leading super premium whisky,
has a tradition as long and distinctive as its taste.
Specially blended to commemorate a grand tour of
Canada made by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
of Great Britain in 1939, Crown Royal's smooth,
elegant style reflects its aristocratic origins and is
considered the epitome of Canadian whisky.
When the Royal Couple embarked on a special
Canadian Pacific train for their tour, the people of
Canada opened their hearts to welcome them. As a
tribute, Seagram ordered the preparation of a
commemorative blend of a deluxe Canadian whisky.
Placed aboard the Royal Train, Crown Royal was the
ideal gift for the Royal Couple who were respected for
their knowledge and love of fine whiskies. From the
magnificent Canadian Rockies to the grandeur of
Montreal, Crown Royal was the highlight of the
journey.
When Crown Royal was made available to the public
in Canada, the response from consumers was
immediate and exuberant. For many years
thereafter, Americans could only purchase Crown
Royal when visiting Canada. When launched in the
United States in 1964, Crown Royal earned the
enthusiasm and loyalty of America's whisky
connoisseurs.
Crown Royal has its origins in ancient Rocky Mountain
glaciers, where Canada's sparkling lakes and rivers
form a network of waterways that are among the
world's purest sources of water. Water is integral to
the taste of whisky, so it is natural that Canada
produces Crown Royal, one of the world's finest
whiskies.
Stayed tuned in the next couple of months for some
news from Crown Royal. Christmas Crown is on the
way. And yes, Crown Royal is my favourite drink,
enjoyed year round in our household!
