has anyone done private parties before? how do you know what to charge, and how do you decide whether they supply this or that or its all on you?

well it's up to you how much you can afford or how much you're willing to spend!
are we talking about a dinner and dance?
a good way to do it might be to work out the price for your meal and get your guests to pay for the meal and maybe put some money behind the bar for later!
