I know a Dirty Martini is a Martini with about a Barspoon of Olive Juice in it. I don't know if that's the same for other drinks, though.

You are on the right track...when the juice of the garnish is added. take a mojito for instance...there is no mint juice to add but in the rare instance somone orders a dirty mojito ...add the lime juice to make it murkey.
