Hot Burgundy Punch

Ingredients

5 Cloves - (more)
1 1/2 cup(s) Water (Boiling) - (more)
1 cup(s) Apple Juice - (more)
1 bottle(s) Burgundy Wine (75 cl.) - (more)
1 Cinnamon Stick (About 8 cm. long) - (more)
1/2 tsp. Allspice - (more)
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg - (more)
1/4 cup(s) Sugar - (more)

Instructions

First dissolve the sugar in the water in a large saucepan. Add the remaining ingredients, except the wine. Heat for 15 minutes then strain into another saucepan and add the wine. Simmer over low heat for a few minutes. Serve in mugs or heat-proof cups and top with a sprinkle of nutmeg. This punch makes approximately 16 servings.
